We are considering a 2nd gathering at Mosaic and would love to hear your thoughts!
WHY? – Space & New Communities. Have you noticed that often, we are quite full? Believe it or not, growing in numbers has never been our goal. As a matter of fact, numerical growth can work against our desire to see real community rather than just a lot of people attending a church service. But, sometimes growth happens and we are given the responsibility to lead the growth in a way that is consistent with WHO we are called to be as a community. We are called to be a community that attempts to orient our lives around the person and teaching of Jesus and to do this by endeavoring to live five rhythms – Beautify, Listen, Eat, Study & Send (BLESS). You need to know that anything we do will be intentional in these five areas.
2 Purposes For The Evening – Space & Sending. Not only would the evening provide some space for our community to grow, but we have always believed we are to be a community that multiplies missional faith communities; ie, to live our “SEND” rhythm, not just talk about it. As many of you know, we have been working with our friends and co-workers, Aaron & Kate Walters, toward the establishment of a new missional community in the Happy Valley area. This 2nd gathering would give the Walter’s a great opportunity to get to know more people and to share their heart for Happy Valley.
SO…We are considering this 2nd gathering being at the Majestic on Sunday evenings around 5pm. We would still share a meal (probably soup, salad, pasta & bread), attempting to get to know each other around the table, while continuing to express our rhythms in our gatherings and in our lives. We will continue to come together for our BEAUTIFY rhythm Sunday’s as well as the times when we gather in homes rather than at the Majestic. It is likely that we would also combine a lot during the summer months.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, we must remain committed to building strong relationships and not just attending a meeting!
MEETING ATTENDANCE DOES NOT EQUAL “COMMUNITY”!
Let us know what you think about this possibility and we will keep you informed about intentions to begin gathering in both the morning and the evening. Right now we are considering November 22 – December 13 and then again beginning January 3rd.
Here’s some great photos by our resident photographer and awesome dude!

What if…. we could get a very influential voice in the world to suggest to the American people that we could collectively, in a grass roots effort, use that money to make a HUGE positive change in the world as it sits today. This does NOT have to be a Democrat or Republican contest. It does not matter what side you are on, or even if you are on a side.
There are an infinite number of worthy causes for funding. However, our country is in a unique position right now on the world stage. I propose that a fund could be created to go directly to the Iraqi people who have lost a loved one, a home, a job, as a result of the war. No strings attached. Spend as they feel necessary. Imagine the message that would send to the rest of the world about what Americans are really like.
The economic turn-down we Americans feel now pales in comparison to what it must be like to have your home or town blown to bits, one or more family members or friends slaughtered, a child missing a leg, contaminated water, no job, no hope, whatever. This could extend beyond Iraq to other war torn areas, but Iraq takes precedence because whether we are right or wrong for being there, we are the ones dishing out the pain.
I know this is a crazy idea that would take organization on a gargantuan scale, but it is possible. I have attempted to get it out to several groups who have the means to handle something of this magnitude, but with very little luck. Could it start locally on a small scale?
The seed has been planted and watered. If God wants it to grow, it will.

Jacky Sabin: I helped out with the letter writing and sending packages to soldiers. I had a few families pick up and lists and take them. We also had a few families stay and write letters and make cards. The kids did a really great job making some cards.
This is service we can continue to take part with. I have a copy of the list of needs and the address. Lets post it on the website so at any time people can send letters or care packages if they want.
List – Coming Soon
Stephen Trinkaus, friend and owner of Terra Organica & Barganica, has a passion to make Bellingham an epicenter of an international movement to end slavery in the world.
Does slavery still exist? The answer is yes, and more than ever. There are more slaves today than at any other point in human history. It is estimated that there are about 27 million people living in slavery today – as you read this.
We are encouraging everyone to attend this catalytic event in Bellingham!
As we have mentioned in previous posts, we are praying that God will open up the flood-gates and provide for dozens of needs during this Holiday season. Beyond what we can do through generosity, we are hoping and praying that God will provide and multiply to meet needs that are beyond our ability as individuals and as a community. Here are the needs that were placed on the tree. If you would like to meet one of these, contact us and we will put you in touch with the person who posted the need (see contact link at top of blog).
